Highway 67 Construction in Campbellsport to Begin Monday

Construction will begin on a portion of Highway 67 in the Village of Campbellsport on Monday after Governor Tony Evers approved a contract for construction to begin.

The just over two-mile stretch of Highway 67 between Baumann Street in Campbellsport to Triple-S road in the Town of Auburn will close Monday for the project, with construction expected to finish by December of this year.

According to a press release from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the $9.042 million dollar project includes installing “new base aggregate, pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalk, storm sewer and shoulder work”, in addition to parking lanes and utility improvements to water and sanitary sewer. The Milwaukee River Bridge will also receive a new concrete deck overlay and structural repairs.

Highway 67 will be closed to through traffic starting Monday, with drivers asked to use a signed detour using Highway 45, Highway 28 and Interstate 41. Access to local businesses and properties in the work zone will be maintained during the project.
