Historical Lakeside Park Subject of Arbor Earth Day Presentation

The Fond du Lac County Natural Beauty Council will host its 34th Arbor-Earth Day Dinner and Program on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 795 Fond du Lac Avenue, Fond du Lac.  Registration will be 5:30-6:30 PM, with dinner being held at 6:30 PM, followed by the program.

“HISTORICAL LAKESIDE PARK”

Learn how the “Foot of the Lake” was transformed from marshland into beauty.  Experience the early years of Lakeside Park, the 1920’s, and beyond.  Photos from the Langdon Divers’ collection will be featured.  The Lighthouse at Lakeside Park is the acknowledged symbol of Fond du Lac County and the most photographed feature of the Park.

This very interesting program will be presented by John Redmond, Fond du Lac City Parks Department, and Tracy Reinhardt, Fond du Lac County Historical Society and Thornton Library. 

The dinner and program are open to the public.  Menu: Chicken Cordon Bleu, Vegetarian, or Gluten Free, including dessert and beverage.  Please indicate your menu choice when making reservations.
