Hit and Run Suspect Appears in Court

A Beaver Dam man accused of seriously injuring another
person in a hit and run incident appeared in court on Wednesday. 41-year old
Colin Biel faces one felony count of Hit and Run Involving Injury. Dodge County
deputies responded to the scene along County
Road
“I” near Highway 33 on Monday, following
reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.

The person suffered serious, but
non-life threatening injuries. Biel
turned himself in around 7:00am the next morning. Biel admitted to leaving the scene, saying he
thought he hit a deer. He also allegedly returned to the scene but left after
seeing emergency lights. He faces up to nine months in prison if convicted. A
judge will decide in December whether there is enough evidence to send Biel to trial.
