Homicide Suspect Killed In Shootout With Milwaukee Police After Chase

An overnight chase and subsequent shootout between the driver of the fleeing vehicle and Milwaukee Police resulted in the suspect being killed Saturday, September 3, 2022, and an innocent bystander left with a gunshot wound.

The Milwaukee Police Department attempted to pull over a vehicle at 22nd & National Avenue that police say was connected to a homicide.

The chase ended at Edison Street & Juneau Avenue after the suspect’s vehicle became disabled.

The 47-year-old exited the vehicle and started shooting at officers.

Police were able to shoot the man who died at the scene.

During the exchange of gunfire, a 22-year-old female was struck and sustained non life threatening injuries.

It is believed the suspect in this incident was wanted in a homicide that took place early Thursday in Milwaukee after firefighters found a woman dead in a burning home with fatal gunshot wounds.

The suspect in that incident used a gun to steal a pick-up truck from a construction workplace.
