Hotel Retlaw Could Help Broaden The Market

The new owners of the Hotel Retlaw feel their $25 million renovation of the historic hotel could help the progress they feel the downtown has made over the years. Steven Frantz says the downtown has made some great strides. He says from what he is hearing he thinks downtown Fond du Lac could look very different over the next 10 years and in a great way. He says that includes a possible art district and drawing a lot more people downtown. Co-owner Dennis Doucette feels that the Hotel Retlaw will help broaden the market for guests for other hotels and motels in the city. He says a lot of guests have been going out of town, but he feels the Hotel Retlaw broaden the market and they will all do very well. The renovation of the hotel will begin in the next few weeks with a targeted opening of late May or early June.
