WIAA Playoffs : Level 3

Division One:

Kimberly 28, Fond du Lac 21

–DJ Stewart’s 52 yard touchdown run with 6:02 left to play in the game proved to be the difference as the Papermakers held off the Cardinals in a WIAA Round 3 playoff game at Kimberly High School. Fond du Lac drove to the Kimberly one yard line, but a fumbled snap on fourth and goal ended the Cardinals threat as they were trying for the tying score. Dylan Sieloff had 15 carries for 93 yards and two touchdowns in the loss, while Jack Cole threw for 176 yards and a touchdown.

With the win, Kimberly extends the nation’s longest winning streak to 68 games in a row. The Papermakers will take on Appleton North in a State Semifinal game next Friday.

St. Mary’s Springs 28, Racine Lutheran 0

–Clay Schueffner ran for two scores and Mitchell Waechter threw for another score as the Ledgers shutout the Crusaders to advance to the State Semifinals next week. Springs will face Markesan at Slinger High School next Friday at 7pm. The Ledgers defeated Markesan 35-0 in week one of the regular season.
