Human Trafficking Sting Nets 5 Arrests In FDL

An undercover operation that targeted sex buyers has resulted in the arrest of 5 males in Fond du Lac.

A combined agency effort involved the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wisconsin State Patrol and Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.

Taken into custody were two men from Fond du Lac, one male from Oshkosh, one male from Wautoma, and one man from Berlin. Charges against the men will be referred to the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office.

Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt said “Fond du Lac is not immune to the trade and sale of human beings for sex” but that his department, working in concert with other agencies, “will hold those people involved responsible and rescue victims trapped in the trade.”

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul said the arrests were for solicitation of of prostitution.
