I-41 Crash Near Eldorado Injures Two

Two people were injured, one seriously, as a result of a vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on I-41. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies received numerous 911 calls just after 4:15p.m. Sunday of a single vehicle crash on Interstate 41 near CTH N, in the Town of Eldorado.

Early investigation determined that the vehicle had been traveling southbound on Interstate 41 when the operator lost control of the vehicle causing it to enter the west ditch and rollover. The driver, a 25-year-old Milwaukee man, was flown from the scene by ThedaStar Medical Helicopter to ThedaCare RegionalMedical Center –Neenah with serious injuries. The passenger, a 34-year-old Milwaukee female, was transported by ambulance to St. Agnes Hospital with minor injuries.

Both occupants were wearing their seatbelt. Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. The southbound lanes of Interstate 41 were closed at CTH N for approximately 20 minutes to allow for a landing zone for ThedaStar.

Assisting at the scene was the Wisconsin State Patrol, Eldorado Fire Department and First Responders, North Fond du Lac Ambulance, and City of Fond du Lac Paramedics.
