I-41 Pursuit Ends In Arrest

A Tuesday (5/11/21) afternoon high-speed chase ends with the driver being arrested. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office received several calls starting at 5:17 p.m., regarding a reckless driver traveling south on I-41 near Scott St. Witnesses reported the vehicle was passing cars on the gravel shoulder and traveling at a high rate of speed.

Deputies were able to locate the vehicle near the area of southbound I-41 and Lost Arrow Rd.  A traffic stop was attempted but the suspect driver ignored the deputy’s lights and siren.  The suspect driver increased to a high rate of speed and a pursuit occurred.

The suspect vehicle ultimately came to a stop on its own on I-41 near CTH F in the Town of Byron.  A high-risk traffic stop occurred and the driver, a 42 year-old Milwaukee man, was arrested.  He is facing charges of fleeing an officer, 4th offense OWI, and numerous other traffic citations stemming from the incident.

The pursuit traveled approximately 3.6 miles.  There were no injuries or damage reported and Troopers with the Wisconsin State Patrol assisted during the incident.
