ICE Makes Sweeps, Arrests in Wisconsin

Eighty-three people were arrested during a recent four day Immigration and Customs Enforcement sweep of Wisconsin. Arrests were made in fourteen counties, including 20 in Dane County, 15 in Milwaukee County, and three in Outagamie County. 44 of those people reportedly have criminal convictions on their records. Those in custody hail from Columbia, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Russia, Thailand, and Vietnam – and are subject to deportation. Green Bay police claim they were not told about the sweeps until calls started coming in – but add that immigration agents to not have to tell police about their arrival.
