Illinois Man Facing Charges In 3 Counties Following Pursuit

An Illinois man faces charges in three separate counties following a pursuit that included Fond du Lac County.

The FDL County Sheriff’s Office was alerted at 4:15 p.m. Sunday afternoon of a vehicle that was driving recklessly on I-41 near 151. Reports were the driver was swerving all over the road and had what appeared to be fresh damage.

FDL County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted a stop with the suspect vehicle refusing to stop and continuing south, where Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies were able to deploy spike strips. The vehicle exited 41 at Hwy. 60 where it came in contact with another vehicle, causing damage, and forcing the suspect off the roadway, where he was apprehended.

The suspect is a 47-year old Illinois man who, investigation shows, stole the vehicle in Illinois earlier in the day, drove to Marinette County, where he was involved in another pursuit that also resulted in damage to another vehicle.

The pursuit from Fond du Lac lasted 27 miles. The man will now face multiple charges in Fond du Lac, Washington and Marinette Counties. The incident remains under investigation.
