Illnesses, Deaths Linked to Vaping Continue to Rise Across the U.S.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says there are
now close to 70 confirmed and probable cases of severe lung disease in the
state of Wisconsin. The most recent data released this week by DHS shows 69 “confirmed
or probable” cases, with another 17 patients who’s cases are under further
investigation. Nationwide, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says
there are 1,080 confirmed cases, to go along with 18 deaths linked to vaping in
15 states. No deaths have been reported in Wisconsin. Health officials say an
investigation is still ongoing to determine a root cause of the illnesses –
although the focus lately has been on THC vaping products. Until a cause is
found, the CDC continues to warn against vaping or using any e-cigarette
device.
