Increased Patrols For St Patricks Day

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department and Fond du Lac Police Departments will be conducting extra patrols for St. Patrick’s Day today. Sheriff’s Captain Ryan Waldschmidt says that is in addition to their regular patrols. He says they will have four additional deputies working from 7 p.m. tonight to 3 a.m. Saturday morning a time when they see a spike in drunken driving incidents. He advises making plans if you will be drinking to have someone sober drive for you. He says set up a ride, plan for a designated driver, call a taxi or call someone to pick you up afterwards. Fond du Lac Police recommend if you are hosting a party serve plenty of food and nonalcoholic beverages and stop serving alcohol a couple of hours before the end of the party and serve coffee instead.
