Investigation Continues into Cyclospora Illness

The FDA and CDC are teaming with state and local investigators to dig deeper into the outbreak of Cyclospora illnesses spread around the Midwest over the past few months. The illness is being associated with recalled Del Monte vegetable trays sold at Kwik Trips and similar locations.

As of Thursday, the CDC reported 237 confirmed cases in people from Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Del Monte pulled the trays from the shelves on June 8th – but it is still possible that people have them in their homes. The FDA has not determined which ingredients are leading to the outbreak, and every part of the veggie trays is under consideration.
