Irish Soda Bread Class Full

The Fond du Lac Public Library’s Breads of World class will teach people how to make two kinds of Irish bread Tuesday night. Community Information Coordinator Terri Fleming says she is one of the instructors who will be teaching people how to make Irish soda bread or the variation “spotted dog.” Her co-instructor is Susan Ringer. Traditionalists use flour, salt, baking soda and buttermilk to make Irish soda bread. Spotted dog is embellished with raisins, caraway seeds, and other add-ins. Upcoming Bread of the World classes will feature breads from Israel and Mexico. March 21st people can learn how to make Challah and on April 18th Tortillas. Tuesday night’s class is already full, but if you would like to register for an upcoming class contact the library. The classes are free.
