Jackson Man Sentenced On Negligent Homicide Charges

A Washington County judge this week called a 22-year-old Jackson man “selfish, immature and irresponsible” then sentenced him to five years in prison for causing a traffic accident that killed a woman and injured others. Dylan Hodgson tried to pass two vehicles on Highway 60 last July. He ended up crossing the centerline and hitting another vehicle driven by 60-year-old Cynthia Patrick who was killed in the crash. Others were hurt. During the sentencing Patrick’s two brothers and the 16-year-old driver of another vehicle involved in the crash spoke about the impact the accident has had on their lives. Hodgson will be on extended supervision for five years after his release from prison followed by five years of probation.
