Jefferson County DA Runs For State Attorney General’s Post

Jefferson County District Attorney Susan Happ would like to do her part to repair the political divide in Wisconsin by being elected the state Attorney General. She’s one of three Democrats in the race. Happ says she has been able to work with Republicans in her county and believes she could do the same at the state level. She’s concerned about the heroin and prescription drug problem in the state, which she says everyone is affected by. Happ says one thing she would like to see the Department of Justice do a better job of is addressing tips on cybercrimes against children including child pornography in a timelier manner. Happ says as far as she’s concerned Federal Judge Barbara Crabb got it right and she would not appeal Crabb’s decision striking down that state’s constitutional amendment that bans same sex marriage. The winner of the August 12th primary will face Republican candidate Brad Schimel for the Attorney General’s office in November.
