Judge Set To Rule On Destroying Of Documents

The office in charge of the Republican elections probe is facing legal sanctions from a Dane County judge in one of several open records lawsuits.

Judge Frank Remington said at a hearing on Tuesday that he’s ready to rule against Mike Gableman and Assembly Speaker Robin for failing to turn over documents.

“If there are no witnesses, then I can say it’s unless there’s a legal defense outlined in the briefs that I’ll have filed – If there’s no evidence, then the court anticipates the Office of Special Counsel will be held in contempt.”

Vos’s attorney James Bopp will have to prove to the court that there was no intent to disobey his order not to destroy documents.
