Kaufman Officially Launches FDL County Executive Campaign

Sam Kaufman of Waupun, Wisconsin officially announced his candidacy for Fond du Lac County Executive in the special election to be held June 7, 2022, after the untimely passing of County Executive Allen Buechel.

Kaufman is a local attorney and municipal prosecutor for local law enforcement and is in his 6th year as a County Board Supervisor and 4th
year as a Town of Waupun Board Supervisor.

“We continue to mourn the loss of Allen Buechel and I have been humbled by the outpouring of support from so many encouraging me to run in this special election. It is important that our county government build upon Allen’s accomplishments as we plan for our future. We will continue to partner with our local municipalities, county agencies,
and our community on important priorities, including public safety, fiscally conservative budgeting, capital improvements, and workforce development.”

Supervisor Kaufman serves as a Town Supervisor for the Township of Waupun and is the Vice-President of the Fond du Lac County Towns Association. He is also the Fond du Lac County Board District No 7 Supervisor and First Vice-Chair of the Fond du Lac County Board.

Supervisor Kaufman serves as Chairman of the standing UW-Extension, Agricultural and Recreation committee and is a Fond du Lac County Court Commissioner.

Kaufman currently resides in the Township of Waupun and has the full support of his wife, Lisa, daughter Ashley, and sons, Alex, Ryan and Kaleb. Kaufman is also a partner in the law firm of Vande Zande & Kaufman, LLP.
