Keith King Running For NFDL Village Board Presidency

After ten years on the North Fond du Lac Village Board Keith King hopes to lead the board as its next president. He’s one of three candidates running to succeed Jim Moore as Village President. King was appointed to the board after Chuck Hornung stepped down to become Village Administrator. King says with both Moore and Hornung retiring the Village is going to see a change in leadership and as Village President he believes he can help the new administrator with that transition. He says, “Whoever it may be and be able to kind of help them along as far as how the board runs and things like that and I feel that I have very good communications skills. I can work well with people and I think that is one my very strong points.” King feels Village staff have done a great job keeping a tight reign on the budget helping to keep the Village’s portion of taxes low, but he says they need economic development to grow the tax base. He says, “I think that’s what we have to do is get that industrial park filled with businesses instead of apartment buildings because apartment buildings don’t bring in the kind of money we need in the tax base that industries do.” King faces fellow Village Trustee Mike Streetar and Fond du Lac County Supervisor Marty Schroeder in Tuesday’s election. The two candidates with the most votes will advance to the April election.
