Kewaskum Woman Found Guilty In Fatal Traffic Accident

A Fond du Lac County jury has found a 27-year-old Kewaskum woman guilty of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle. Following the verdict Thursday morning, Judge Dale English ordered a pre-sentence investigation for Heather Cleveland. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 24th.  Cleveland was heading west on June 25th of 2014 on Highway 23 in her SUV when she ran into the back of a pickup truck that was stopped to make a left turn onto Willow Road. The impact caused the pickup to travel into the eastbound lane and it collided head on with a vehicle driven by 63-year-old Linda Trotter of Ripon. Trotter died at the scene. Cleveland was texting on her phone minutes before the accident.
