Works Continues On NFDL Village Budget

The North Fond du Lac Village Board continues working on the village’s 2017 Budget. Village Administrator Chuck Hornung says part of their discussion this week had to do with carrying over revenue from one year to the next to help balance the budget. He says often it has to do with funds for positions that have not been filled. He says the board hasn’t decided whether there will be a 1 or 2 percent increase in the tax levy. Each percentage increase translates to $15,000 or $16,000 in increases to the levy. He says this year’s tax rate was $8.54 and that will increase depending on what they decide about the levy. The board will hold a public hearing and adopt the budget and tax levy at their Monday, November 21st meeting.
