Waupun Man Pleads To Sexual Assault And Child Porn Possession Charges

A 27-year-old Waupun man who sexually assaulted an infant will be sentenced on October 4th. In Dodge County court this week Robert Moungey pled no contest to one count of 1st degree sexual assault of a child and two felony child pornography possession charges. Seven other charges were read into the record and dismissed. The sexual assault charge stemmed from a March 2015 incident. The child porn possession charges are the result of images found on his computer in May of last year.

Fondy Men Cited For Fighting On Shoulder Of The Road

Two Fond du Lac men fist fighting on the shoulder of I-41 in Washington County were cited for disorderly conduct and open intoxicants in a vehicle. It happened early Tuesday morning. Deputies say the 24 and 25-year-old men were arguing about how one of them got separated from their group while in Milwaukee. No one was injured in the fight. A 24-year-old passenger was arrested on a probation hold. The driver was not drunk

Dodge County Board Vacancy

The Dodge County Board on Tuesday, August 16th will vote on filling a vacancy on the board. Chairman Russ Kottke is recommending Richard Fink of Theresa for the District 12 seat. Longtime Supervisor Gerald Adelmeyer died in late June leaving the opening on the board.  The district represents the Village of Theresa, Town of Theresa, and part of the Town of Herman.  The term runs through April 2018.

NFDL NNO Includes Respect For Law And Ribbon Cutting

The North Fond du Lac Village Board proclaimed this week “Respect for Law” week in the Village. Village Administrator Chuck Hornung says it’s something they do in conjunction with their National Night Out celebration, which was held at the Community Pool Tuesday night. He says the proclamation was passed during the Village Board’s meeting Monday night. He says a representative of the North Fond du Lac Optimists Club spoke about “Respect for Law” and gave a $100 donation to the Police Department. The National Night Out in North Fond du Lac also included a ribbon-cutting for the pool’s new splash pad. Fond du Lac Police held their National Night Out celebration at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds Park last night.

Getting Ready For Students

The start of August brings with it preparations for a new school year. Fond du Lac Schools Superintendent Jim Sebert says they take a bit of a breather during July, but their teachers and staff will be holding their own types of orientation this month and they get ready to welcome back students for the fall. He says there is a lot of optimism that goes with the start of a fresh new school year. Staff will be welcomed back in the Fond du Lac School District on Thursday, August 25th with the first day for students on Thursday, September 1st.

Hunter Education Course Being Offered In Waupun

A DNR hunter education class will be held in Waupun this month. The class will be held on Tuesday and Thursdays over a two week period. Registration will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 15th at the Waupun Safety Building on East Main Street. Classes will also be taught there beginning on Tuesday, August 16th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The final class will be held on Saturday August 27th, from 8:00am until 12:00 noon. Only the first thirty Waupun area registrants will be able to take the course. The cost is $10.
