>>UConn, Marquette Meet At Fiserv Forum For Big East Showdown

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  Both UConn and the Marquette Golden Eagles will be coming off victories when they meet at the Fiserv Forum tonight (Tuesday) for a Big East Conference game. It will be the first meeting between the two programs in nearly eight years. The Huskies bring a 4-and-1 record into the 8:00 p-m showdown. They are led in scoring by six-foot-five sophomore guard James Bouknight who is averaging a little over 23 points-a-game.  UConn struggles from outside the arc, connecting on less than a third of its 3-pointers.  Senior Koby McEwen leads the Eagles in scoring with 13-and-a-half points-a-game. Marquette (6-and-5) is led in rebounding by six-11 freshman Dawson Garcia at seven-point-three boards-a-game.

>>Poll:  Badgers Basketball Drops From 6th To 8th

(Madison, WI)  —  The Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team picked up an important win in the Border Battle with Minnesota last week, but the upset loss to Maryland knocked coach Greg Gard’s squad down two positions.  Wisconsin dropped from sixth to eighth in the AP Top 25 Poll released Monday.  The poll shows the early-season dominance of the Big Ten Conference – with three teams in the top 10 and seven in the top 25.  Undefeated Gonzaga still sits on top of the poll, followed by Baylor, Villanova and Texas.  Iowa, at number five, is the highest-ranked Big Ten team.

>>Rodgers Leads 5 Green Bay Packers Named To Pro Football Focus All-Pro Team

(Green Bay, WI)  —  Record-setting quarterback Aaron Rodgers leads five of his fellow Green Bay Packers who have been named to the Pro Football Focus All-Pro team this season.  Rodgers is in competition for his third Most Valuable Player award after compiling a passer rating of 121-point-five – the second-best ranking in NFL history.  The only mark that was better was his 122-point-five in 2011 when he won the MVP. Joining Rodgers on the PFF team are wide receiver Davante Adams, center Corey Linsley, cornerback Jaire Alexander, and safety Adrian Amos.  All five were named to the first team.

>>Idle Badgers Men’s Hockey Team Moves Up 2 Spots In Rankings, Women Remain #1

(Madison, WI)  —  When the Wisconsin men’s hockey team hosts border rival Minnesota Saturday it will be the first action for the Badgers in more than a month.  Despite being idled by the coronavirus pandemic since December 4th, coach Tony Granato’s squad moved up two spots in the USCHO ranks this week, checking in at number 12. This weekend’s opponents, the Gophers, are ranked number one and are undefeated in nine games. The UW women’s team holds on to its number-one ranking after sweeping Minnesota State last weekend. The women start a series against Ohio State Friday night at La Bahn Arena.
