College Football:
Wisconsin Badgers wide receiver Quintez Cephus is suing the school – arguing a disciplinary probe it is conducting while he’s trying to defend himself in a criminal sexual assault case violates his rights. Cephus was suspended from the team after being charged with sexually assaulting two drunk women in his apartment back in August – but he maintains that the encounter was consensual. He filed a federal lawsuit arguing the investigation is unfair because he can’t take part in it without potentially harming his criminal defense. The suit seeks unspecified damages for emotional and psychological harm – along with past and future economic losses, claiming Cephus would likely be a high NFL draft pick. The school has yet to review the lawsuit, but believes their process complies with federal law.
