College Football:

The Badger Football team’s defense continues to be one of the highlights of the Big Ten season so far. With its 38-0 shutout of Michigan State on Saturday – Wisconsin recorded its fourth shutout of the year and became the first Bowl Subdivision team with four shutouts in its first six games since Oklahoma did it in 1967. Wisconsin is the first Big Ten team to accomplish that feat since Minnesota in 1962. The 29 points the Badgers have allowed this year is the fewest in the FBS through six games since Florida State allowed just 24 points in 1993.

The Wisconsin Badgers and Ohio State Buckeyes still have some business to take care of this weekend, but a firm kickoff time has been established for their showdown October 26th in Columbus. The 11 AM game will be nationally broadcast on Fox because both teams are ranked in the top-six right now and both are undefeated. Ohio State takes on Northwestern in a Friday night game this week, while Wisconsin plays Illinois Saturday.

–Stephen Strasburg struck out 12 batters over seven innings of work, while Howie Kendrick led the Nat’s offense with three hits and three RBI as Washington is within one win of sweeping the Cardinals out of the NLCS. Game four is tonight in Washington D.C.

Later today – it’s game three of the American League Championship Series as Houston travels to New York. The series is tied at one game apiece after the Astros won in walk-off fashion in Game Two on Sunday. Gerrit Cole gets the start for Houston against Luis Severino for the Yankees. First pitch is just after 3 pm.
