CBB News: 

Both the UW-Oshkosh Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams have both been picked to repeat as league champions this season. 

The Titan Men, the defending National Champions, won their first regular-season WIAC title since the 2001-02 season last year and is ranked #2 in the Preseason Top 25 by D3Hoops.com. Oshkosh returns three starters from last year’s team, including senior center Jack Flynn and senior forward Adam Fravert. UW-Platteville was picked to finish second, with UW-La Crosse picked third. 

The Oshkosh women won their 13th WIAC regular season title last year, and won the WIAC Tournament for the fifth time. The Titan women advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three seasons. 12 letterwinners return for coach Brad Fischer, who is in his 8th season at the school and holds a 165-37 record. UW-La Crosse was picked to finish second, with UW-Whitewater picked third. 

NBA:

–Khris Middleton scored 26 points, Giannis Antetokounmpo added 22 points and 14 rebounds, but it was the Celtics who came out on top Wednesday night in Boston. The Celtics outscored the Bucks by 20 points in the third quarter to turn a 16-point halftime deficit into a four-point lead. Kemba Walker had 32 points to lead the Celtics in the win. The Bucks drop to 2-2 on the year, they visit Orlando on Friday night.

NFL: 

Wide receiver Davante Adams returned to Packers practice Wednesday as a limited participant for the first time since he was sidelined with a toe injury September 26th.  Adams jogged through some routes but didn’t participate in the workout. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, running back Aaron Jones and tight end Jimmy Graham were involved in rehab work while reporters were looking on.  Rodgers tweaked his knee against Dallas. Green Bay has won four games in-a-row for a 7-and-1 record. The Packers travel to Los Angeles to play the 3-and-5 Chargers Sunday.

Major League Baseball: 

World Series – Game Seven: 

Washington 6, Houston 2

–Howie Kendrick hit the go-ahead two-run home run in the seventh inning as the Nationals rallied to win their first-ever World Series title, defeating the Astros in Game Seven Wednesday night. The road team won every game in the series. Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg was named World Series MVP, with a pair of wins in the series – including Game Six on Tuesday. Washington held a 19-31 record in late May, rallied to earn the top Wild Card Spot and ended up the World Series champs.
