Winnebago Lutheran earned a split at the Central Wisconsin Christian Triangular on Tuesday – losing to Madison Abundant Life (26-24, 14-25, 15-17) and defeating Central Wisconsin Christian (13-25, 25-22, 15-7)

At their home triangular – CWC also earned a split, defeating Abundant Life (26-24, 25-18) and losing to WLA

College Tennis: 

A former Fond du Lac High School tennis player is already earning honors in her freshman season at UW-La Crosse. Kellie Hierl, along with her doubles partner Kimberly Steinert, were named the WIAC athletes of the week in doubles play for the week of September 30th to October 6th. Hierl and Steinert earned a pair of conference wins at #1 doubles for the Eagles on Saturday over UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stout. The two also earned the “Athletes of the Week” honor in early September and received a nomination for the award during the opening week of the season. 

College Hoops: 

The Wisconsin Badgers basketball team hosts its annual Red-White Scrimmage Sunday at noon. The free event will be the first chance U-W fans will have to get a peek at the 2019-2020 players. Everyone who shows up will get a team schedule poster and will have the chance to meet the players and coaches during a post-game autograph session. The first action is set for November 1st at the Kohl Center when the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse meets the Badgers in the only exhibition game scheduled.  The regular season starts four days later when Wisconsin takes on St. Mary’s of California in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

NBA: 

The Bucks host the Utah Jazz at Fiserv Forum in their second preseason game tonight. Milwaukee got a 122-112 win over Chicago on Monday, while Utah breezed through a preseason tuneup vs. the Adelaide 36’ers 133-81 on Saturday. Listen to tonight’s game on KFIZ and the Bucks Radio Network starting at 6:30, tipoff is 7 pm.

–The Rays roughed up Justin Verlander to the tune of four runs on seven hits in 3 & ⅔ innings to force a game five Thursday in Houston. 

The National League Division Series will come to an end today – as both series are down to a decisive fifth game. St. Louis visits Atlanta and Washington travels to the Los Angeles Dodgers – the winners advance to the National League Championship Series.
