>>Packers LT Bakhtiari Returns To Lineup For Jacksonville Game

(Green Bay, WI)  —  Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari returns to the lineup for Sunday’s home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.  Bakhtiari was a full participant in Wednesday’s team practice after missing the last three games with a chest injury.  He was hurt during the loss at Tampa Bay.  Billy Turner will return to his normal right tackle position after replacing Bakhtiari in those games.  Green Bay may be missing its top cover cornerback Sunday after Jaire Alexander missed practice.  He suffered a concussion in the 49ers game.  Wide receiver Darrius Shepherd and offensive tackle Rick Wagner are nursing injuries.  Cornerback Kevin King was a limited participant Wednesday after missing the last four games.

>>No Final Determination For QB-1 For UW Game At Michigan

(Madison, WI)  —  No decision has been made about the Badgers starting quarterback for Saturday’s game at Michigan.  Offensive coordinator Joe Rudolph says redshirt freshman Graham Mertz is the starting quarterback, but it isn’t clear if he will be ready to go.  Mertz clears the program’s COVID-19 protocol this week, but he may not get enough quality practice time to be ready to lead the offense against the Wolverines.  If not, Chase Wolf is the backup and Rudolph says the coaches also have confidence in Danny Vanden Boom.  Badger games against Nebraska and Purdue have been canceled.  It’s the second week of November and Wisconsin has played just one game.  One more cancellation and the Badgers won’t be eligible for the Big Ten Championship game.

>>Tennessee Point Guard Signs National Letter Of Intent With Marquette

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  A highly-ranked point guard from Tennessee has signed a national letter of intent with Marquette.  Six-foot-four Kameron Jones gave the Golden Eagles his verbal commitment last summer.  He averaged more than 20 points-a-game for Evangelical Christian School in Cordova, Tennessee as a junior.  Jones had offers from five other schools, including Florida.  He says he works as hard as he can, day-in and day-out, getting his teammates involved as much as possible.  The news release says he also has a three-point-five grade point average.

>>3 Brewers Pitchers In Contention For Spots On All-MLB Team

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  Three Milwaukee Brewers pitchers are finalists for this year’s All-MLB team.  Corbin Burnes and Brandon Woodruff are listed among 20 starting pitchers, while reliever Devin Williams has a chance to get another award following an outstanding rookie season.  Closer Josh Hader and outfielder Christian Yelich made the first team last year.  Former Brewers catcher Yasmani Grandal made the second team.  Williams seems to have the best shot after being named National League Reliever of the Year and National League Rookie of the Year.  Fans, players and media vote to determine who’s on the team.  Voting ends Friday at MLB.com

>>Freshman Guard Bowman Leaves Badgers Basketball Program

(Madison, WI)  —  Freshman guard Lorne Bowman has withdrawn from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and its basketball program to return home to deal with a family matter.  Bowman had already taken a leave of absence earlier this term.  Wisconsin coach Greg Gard says he’s in communication with Bowman and his family, but school officials aren’t specifying the nature of the family issue.  Gard says the issue Bowman has been dealing with at home turned out to be more of a problem than anyone expected – including the player himself.
