Girls Swimming & Diving:

Fond du Lac placed sixth at the WIAA Girls Swimming & Diving sectional at Neenah on Saturday. Isabella Jones and Grace Sphatt will be moving on to the WIAA State Swim Meet next weekend. Jones placed second in the 200 yard freestyle and eighth in the 100 yard butterfly. Sphatt was sixth in the 200 yard freestyle and was second in the 500 yard freestyle. Both Jones and Sphatt were part of the 200 yard freestyle relay team that placed seventh and the 400 yard freestyle relay team that placed sixth.

–It was the Jonathan Taylor show at Camp Randall Stadium again as the Badgers downed Rutgers on Saturday afternoon. Taylor carried the ball 27 times for 208 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 7.7 yards per carry. Quarterback Alex Hornibrook did not play in the second half after apparently suffering another concussion. Jack Coan took his place, completing five passes for 64 yards and a touchdown. Coan would be the starter next week at Penn State if Hornibrook can’t play.
