>>Tough December Schedule Will Challenge Marquette Men’s Basketball

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  The Marquette Golden Eagles have a couple of feel-good wins under their belts, but things are about to get much tougher.  Coach Steve Wojciechowski’s team embarks on a challenging December schedule when the Oklahoma State Cowboys visit the Fiserv Forum for a 6:00 p-m game today (Tuesday).  The Golden Eagles then host the Wisconsin Badgers Friday and play road games at UCLA December 11th and at Creighton December 14th.  The big job in tonight’s (Tuesday’s) game is trying to slow down freshman star Cade Cunningham of the Cowboys.  He’s averaging more than 20 points-a-game and is expected by some scouts to be the top pick in the next NBA draft.

>>Former Coach Bo Ryan’s Son Leads UW-Green Bay Into Game At Kohl Center

(Madison, WI)  —  The oldest son of former Wisconsin Badgers coach Bo Ryan leads the U-W Green Bay Phoenix into the Kohl Center this afternoon.  Tip-off for the non-conference game is set for 4:00 p-m.  Will Ryan is in his first season as a Division One head coach.  He spent last season coaching Wheeling University.  Blowout victories over Western Illinois and Arkansas-Pine Bluff pushed the Badgers all the way up to number four in the Associated Press college basketball poll.  They had been seventh.  The Big Ten has three teams among the top five in that poll.

>>Wisconsin Men’s Hockey Has To Figure Out How To Win Without Its Best Players

(Madison, WI)  —  The Wisconsin men’s hockey team has already had to deal with the absence of some solid players – like Dylan Holloway.  He’s been gone since the middle of last month because Hockey Canada extended its World Juniors camp.  Now, USA Hockey is going to start its camp December 6th – before the series at Michigan State.  That means top scorer Cole Caufield will be gone. U-W coach Tony Granato says he hasn’t discussed whether the Michigan State series could be moved yet.  When the Badgers play at Ohio State Thursday and Friday of this week, they will likely be skating without five of their 14 forwards due to other commitments and at least one positive test result for COVID-19.
