>>Badgers Basketball Hosts Nebraska In Big Ten Opener

(Madison, WI)  —  Nebraska visits the Kohl Center tonight (Tuesday) at 6:00 p-m for the  Big Ten Conference opener for both teams.  Wisconsin will be trying to beat the Cornhuskers for the fifth straight time.  The Badgers also have an eight-game winning streak in Big Ten Conference games and a 14-game home-court streak.  Coach Greg Gard’s team is the only one in the country to rank in the top-10 in both offense and defense.  They also ranked number nine this week in both the A-P and coaches polls.  Micah Potter leads Wisconsin scoring with a little over 14 points-a-game and rebounding at six-point-seven boards-a-game.  D’Mitrik Trice and Nate Reuvers are averaging 11-point-six points-a-game.

>>Freshman TB Berger Could Return To Lineup For Mayo Bowl

(Madison, WI)  —  A change in the Big Ten rules for how long players have to sit out after contracting COVID-19 means the Wisconsin Badgers could have freshman tailback Jalen Berger in the lineup for the Music City Bowl.  Players now have to sit out 17 days – the old standard was 21.  Although Berger has played in only three games, he leads the Badgers with 267 rushing yards, an average of five-point-nine yards-a-carry.  It remains to be seen whether the Badgers’ wide receivers Danny Davis the Third and Kendrick Pryor are back in the lineup.  They, along with left tackle Cole Van Lanen, have been sidelined with injuries not related to the coronavirus pandemic.

>>Former Packer Coach, NFL Hall Of Famer Kevin Greene Dies

(Green Bay, WI)  —  Former Packer coach and NFL Hall of Fame linebacker and defensive end Kevin Greene has died at the age of 58.  Greene was Green Bay’s outside linebackers coach for five seasons ending in 2013, including the team’s Super Bowl 45 title.  Greene was an All-Pro and Pro Bowl player for the Rams, Steelers and Panthers.  His total of 160 sacks over a 15-year career is third on the all-time pro football list.  He died at his home Monday.  The cause of his death hasn’t been released.

>>7 Packers Named To Pro Bowl Roster

(Green Bay, WI)  —  Seven Green Bay Packers players have been named to the Pro Bowl roster – the most since a similar number of Packers were chosen in 2011.  Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, wide receiver Davante Adams, left tackle David Bakhtiari, guard Elgton Jenkins, linebacker Za’Darius Smith, cornerback Jaire Alexander and running back Aaron Jones were named Monday.  All but Jones are starters.  The ninth selection for Rodgers ties him with Forest Gregg and Brett Favre for the most in franchise history.  Adams is the first Packers wide receiver to get the honor four straight years since James Lofton made six-in-a-row starting in 1980.  It’s the first time For Alexander, Jenkins and Jones.

>>Badgers Basketball Ranked Number 9

(Madison, WI)  —  The Wisconsin Badgers move up three spots in the rankings this week to number-nine.  The 6-and-1 Badgers have a home game tonight (Tuesday) against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.  Gonzaga tops the USA Today Coaches Poll with a 4-and-0 record, with three of those wins coming against top-six teams.  Number-two Baylor got the rest of the number-one votes and came in second after a win over Kansas State.  Villanova of the Big East moved up to number three.  The Wildcats play at Marquette Wednesday night.  They will become the third top-10 opponent the Golden Eagles have played in the first 10 games of the season.
