Sports Headlines:

>>Bucks Open Season At Boston – Possible Preview Of Eastern Conference Finals

(Boston, MA)  —  When the Milwaukee Bucks open the N-B-A season at Boston tonight (Wednesday) it is a possible preview of the Eastern Conference finals. Tip-off from the T-D Garden is 6:30 p-m Central time.  Two-time defending NBA Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo will lead a rebuilt Bucks lineup against All-Star forward Jayson Tatum and the Celtics.  Boston has seemingly improved its roster after losing to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference finals last season.

>>Villanova Visits Marquette For Important Big East Conference Showdown

(Milwaukee, WI)  —  The Marquette Golden Eagles will try to snap a two-game Big East Conference losing streak when Villanova visits the Fiserv Forum tonight (Wednesday).  Tip-off is at 6:00 p-m.  The Eagles have upset two ranked opponents this season and the Wildcats are number-five in the polls.  Defensive lapses have hurt Marquette in an up-and-down 5-and-4 season.  The Golden Eagles are 1-and-2 in conference games.  Senior Koby McEwen leads the scoring attack with 15 points-a-game.  Ohio State transfer D-J Carton is averaging a dozen.  Freshman big-man Dawson Garcia has been a presence with 13 points and six-point-six rebounds-a-game.

>>Packers Center Corey Linsley Set To Return From IR

(Green Bay, WI)  —  Center Corey Linsley practiced with the Packers Tuesday and has been designated by the team to return from injured reserve.  Green Bay has a 21-day window to activate Linsley to the 53-man roster. It’s possible he might be available for Sunday’s night game against the Tennessee Titans.  Linsley suffered a knee injury against the Bears November 29th and he has missed three games.  Linsley was the highest-graded NFL center at Pro Football Focus after the first 11 games of the season.  During 625 total snaps and 379 pass-blocking assignments, he had no penalties and gave up just one sack and two pressures.  With the postseason already clinched, it’s possible the team would give him another week to recover.

>>Only Family & Friends Of Teams Will Be Allowed In To See Duke’s Mayo Bowl

(Charlotte, NC)  —  The only people allowed inside Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina for next week’s Duke’s Mayo Bowl will be family and friends of the two teams and the bowl organizer.  The Wisconsin Badgers are playing the Wake Forest Demon Deacons next Wednesday at 11:00 a-m. The Charlotte Sports Foundation made the announcement Tuesday.  It says an automatic refund for all ticket purchases through the Foundation and Ticketmaster will be applied within 30 days.  The decision was made by Mecklenburg County public health officials in partnership with Bank America Stadium and the CSF after COVID-19 data and guidance were reviewed.
