The WIAA Boys Basketball tournament began Tuesday night with the Regional Quarterfinal Round

Division 3:

Ripon 75, North Fond du Lac 67

–Mathias Gilbertson scored 23 points, Dawson Wodsedalek 22 in the loss for the Orioles. Ripon travels to Watertown Luther Prep in the Regional Semifinals Friday Night.

Campbellsport 61, Mayville 55

–The Cougars play at Lomira on Friday in the Regional Semifinals

Sheboygan Falls 75, St. Lawrence Seminary 41

Oostburg 57, Chilton 41

Division 4:

St. Mary’s Springs 76, Montello 54

–Five Ledgers scored in double figures in the win, led by Brady Freund with 13 points. The Ledgers will host Parkview in the Regional Semifinals Friday

Division 5:

Pecatonica 70, Central Wisconsin Christian 34

Oakfield 59, Stockbridge 37

–The Oaks play at top-seed Sheboygan Lutheran on Friday

College Basketball:

The Big Ten Tournament gets underway this afternoon in New York City with the opening round. In the first game of the day, #12 seed Iowa will play #13 seed Illinois, while #11 seed Minnesota will face #14 Rutgers. The Iowa/Illinois winner advances to face Michigan in the quarterfinals, while the Rutgers/Minnesota winner takes on Indiana. The Badgers are the first game of the day Thursday, an 11 am tipoff against Maryland.

The Wisconsin Women’s basketball team opens play in the Big Ten Tournament this afternoon. The 13th-seeded Badgers play #12 seed Northwestern in the opening around at 12:30 this afternoon. Also this afternoon, #14 seed Illinois plays #11 seed Penn State. The women’s tournament is being held in Indianapolis this year.

NBA:

Washington 107, Milwaukee 104

–Giannis Antetokounmpo posted a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds in the loss for the Bucks. Milwaukee travels to Detroit tonight, coverage on the Bucks Radio Network starts at 5:40, tipoff at 6pm on KFIZ.

MLB Spring Training:

Milwaukee 6, Cincinnati 3

–Nick Franklin’s three-run home run in the sixth inning was the difference in the win for the Brewers. Milwaukee is now 5-1 in Cactus League play and hosts San Francisco this afternoon.
