Men’s College Basketball:
The field of 68 for the NCAA Tournament was announced Sunday and four teams from the Big Ten made the field.
Purdue earned a number two seed in the East Regional and will play #15 seed Cal State-Fullerton in the first round
Michigan earned a number three seed in the West Regional and will play #14 seed Montana in the first round.
Ohio State earned a number five seed in the West Regional and will play #12 seed South Dakota State in the first round
Michigan State earned a number three seed in the Midwest Regional and will play #14 seed Bucknell in the first round.
Virginia is the tournament’s overall number one seed, with Villanova, Kansas and Xavier earning the other top seeds. The tournament begins Tuesday night with the “First Four” in Dayton, Ohio.
The Marquette Golden Eagles will play in the National Invitation Tournament after being left out of the NCAA Tournament Field. Marquette earned a #2 seed in the 32-team field and will host #7 seed Harvard at the Bradley Center Wednesday night.
Two Big Ten teams heard their names called for NIT bids. Nebraska, who had a 13-5 conference record, earned a number five seed and will play at #4 seed Mississippi State. Meanwhile, Penn State earned a #4 seed and will host #5 seed Temple in the first round.
The Bucks have signed guard Brandon Jennings to a 10-day contract, bringing the former first round pick back to Milwaukee. Jennings most recently played for the Wisconsin Herd, Milwaukee’s affiliate in the NBA G League. In seven games with the Herd, Jennings averaged 21 points, seven assists and 4 rebounds in 37 minutes per game. Jennings was the 10th overall pick by Milwaukee in the 2009 draft, and has career averages of 14 points, five assists and three rebounds per game. The Bucks play at Memphis tonight.
MLB Spring Training:
Milwaukee 5, Cleveland 4
–The Brewers scored three runs in the ninth inning to pull out the win over the Indians in Cactus League action. Milwaukee plays the Dodgers today.
