–Markus Howard scored 22 points as the Golden Eagles advanced to the second round of the NIT with a win over the Crimson at the Al McGuire Center in Milwaukee. Marquette will play #3 seed Oregon on Sunday.

Penn State 63, Temple 57

–The Nittany Lions travel to top-seed Notre Dame on Saturday

The “Round of 64” begins today in the NCAA Tournament, with games played in Pittsburgh, Dallas, Boise and Wichita. Two Big Ten teams are in action today, as Ohio State takes on South Dakota State from Boise, tipoff is at 3pm central time. NBA:

Orlando 126, Milwaukee 117

–Giannis Antetokounmpo’s double-double of 38 points and 10 rebounds wasn’t enough for the Bucks in the loss as Orlando shot 50 percent from the floor and 52 percent (18-34) from three point range to snap a five-game losing streak.  Milwaukee hosts Atlanta on Saturday.

–Ryan Braun went 2 for 2 with two home runs and 5 RBI in the win for the Brewers. Milwaukee plays Texas today.

NFL:

Cleveland Browns offensive tackle and former Wisconsin Badger Joe Thomas is calling it a career. Thomas was the third overall draft pick by the Browns in the 2007 NFL Draft and logged 10,363 consecutive snaps before that streak was halted by a torn triceps last October.
