–Abby Van Beek struck out 13 batters in seven innings and went 3 for 4 at the plate with a home run for the Cardinals in the win. Sam Hamburger doubled and scored a run for Laconia in the loss

–Alyssa Muench tossed a no-hitter for the Cougars, striking out 13 in five innings. Morgan Fryman went 2 for 4 with three runs scored on offense.

–The reigning NL MVP Christian Yelich blasted a three-run home run, and Lorenzo Cain came up with a game-saving catch as the Brewers downed the Cardinals 5-4 at Miller Park on Opening Day. Mike Moustakas and Jhoulys Chacin added solo homers of their own in the win – that saw the Brewers fall behind 3-0, then go ahead 4-3 on Yelich’s 413 foot shot in the third inning. With two outs in the ninth, Jose Martinez hit a long fly ball to right center field – but Lorenzo Cain said – Not Today – making a leaping catch at the wall to rob Martinez of the potential game-tying home run and seal the victory.

Chacin earned the win – striking out seven in five and & ⅓ innings on the mound. Game two of the series is tonight – with Freddy Peralta going for the Brewers, St. Louis sends Jack Flaherty to the mound. Coverage starts at 6:35, first pitch at 7:10.

–Khris Middleton scored 39 points, Giannis added 34 as the Bucks defeated the Clippers at Fiserv Forum. Milwaukee has won four in-a-row and still leads Toronto by four games in the East with six to play. The Bucks begin their final road trip Sunday in Atlanta.

The NBA is going to play a regular-season game in Paris for the first time next year, with the league announcing Thursday that Milwaukee and Charlotte will play there next season. The game will be on January 24th of 2020.The game will mark the NBA’s 11th in France all-time, counting exhibitions.The Hornets played a preseason game in Paris in 1994. The Bucks will be going to France for the first time. Tickets for The NBA Paris Game 2020 will go on sale later this year.
