–Ryan Braun and Orlando Arcia hit back-to-back homers as part of a rout of the Miami Marlins in the series opener at Miller Park. Lorenzo Cain also hit a longball, part of his 3-for-4 night at the plate. Milwaukee pounded 13 hits off of Marlins pitching on the way to their third straight win. Chase Anderson got the win on the mound for Milwaukee, allowing three runs on five hits in 5 & ⅓ innings. Game two of the series is tonight, coverage on KFIZ and the Brewers Radio Network starts at 6:35 pm.

NFL:

The Packers schedule for the upcoming season was released last night and Green Bay will open the regular season in primetime against a division rival. The Chicago Bears will come to Lambeau for Sunday Night Football September 9th for a 7:20 pm kickoff. The Packers will play four other primetime games, including Monday, October 15th against San Francisco, Sunday, November 4th at New England, Thursday, November 15th at Seattle and Sunday, November 25th at Minnesota. The NFL regular season opener will feature the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday, September 6th.

NBA Playoffs:

Eastern Conference – 1st Round:

Philadelphia 128, Miami 108

–Joel Embiid scored 23 points in his return to action as Philly took a 2-1 series lead over the Heat.

Western Conference – 1st Round:

New Orleans 119, Portland 102

–Nikola Mirotic scored 30 to lead the Pelicans to a 3-0 advantage over the Trail Blazers in their first round series. .

Golden State 110, San Antonio 97

–Kevin Durant scored 26 points to lead the Warriors in the win and a 3-0 series lead over the Spurs

Tonight, the Bucks look to regain some footing in their first round series with the Boston Celtics as the series shifts to Milwaukee. Boston holds a 2-0 series lead after their 120-106 win on Tuesday. Tipoff time is around 8:30 pm. Two other Eastern Conference playoff series will be featured tonight, as Cleveland visits Indiana in game three of their series with the series even at one game apiece. Also, Toronto looks to take a 3-0 series lead on Washington with a win on the road in Washington D.C. tonight.

High School:

Congratulations to Dawson Sarauer from St. Mary’s Springs Academy who was named one of 32 finalists for the WIAA Scholar Athlete Award. Sarauer is the first Scholar Athlete finalist from St. Mary’s Springs, and will be recognized at an awards ceremony on May 6th in Wausau along with other finalists from across the state.
