Fox Valley Classic Conference: 

Fond du Lac 62, Bay Port 19

–Braelon Allen ran for 154 yards and three touchdowns as the Cardinals rolled past the Pirates to win the Fox Valley Classic “Group A” Championship. Fondy quarterback Kyle Walljasper ran for two scores and threw for another in the win for the Cardinals – who will play Appleton North in the first round of the conference playoffs next week. The game will be played at Kiel High School.

–Caden Pendleton threw for five touchdowns as the Papermakers beat the Lightning on the road.

Flyway Conference: 

Mayville 7, St. Mary’s Springs 6

–Blake Schraufnagel’s 27-yard interception return for a touchdown just before halftime proved to be the difference as the Cardinals handed the Ledgers their second loss in a row. Isaac Hyland ran for 55 yards and a touchdown for Springs in the loss. 

Lomira 35, Winnebago Lutheran 7

–The Lions improve to 5-0 on the season

Campbellsport 26, Ripon 14

Omro 49, Waupun 15

–The Foxes improve to 5-0 on the season. 

Cross Country: 

The Fond du Lac Boys and Girls Cross Country teams competed at the FVA Conference Meet at Winagamie Golf Course on Friday. The Fondy Girls team finished in second place with Ally Schmitz and Sophia Schneider taking fourth and fifth place, respectively. 

The Fondy boys team took third place, with Charlie Quast placing fifth individually to highlight the meet for the Cardinals. 

Boys Golf: 

The Fond du Lac Boys Golf Team finished in 30th place out of 40 teams at the Sheboygan North Invite at Blackwolf Run in Kohler. Wyatt Pfeiffer had the low score for the Cardinals on Friday with a 78.

–The Cubs put up 10 runs in the first two innings as they rolled to a win over the Brewers at Wrigley Field on Friday afternoon. Kolten Wong had three hits, including a solo home run in the loss. Game two of the series is this afternoon – first pitch is 1:20 PM, radio coverage starts at 12:45 on KFIZ.
