–Abby Van Beek struck out 14 batters in six innings, she also walked twice and drove in two runs for Mayville. The Cardinals clinch the Flyway Conference Championship – improving to 11-0 in conference and 17-0 overall. Emma Rolf had three hits, including a double for Springs in the loss.

Girls Soccer:

–Katelyn Bonilla and Kalli Wiechman each scored two goals for WLA in the win

Boys Golf:

Neenah edged Fond du Lac in an FVA Dual Meet on Monday 165-166. Sam Nielsen shot a 37 to lead Fondy, Neenah was led by Alex Borgen with a 39.

Track & Field:

FVA Conference Meet:

Both the Fond du Lac Boys and Girls track teams placed fifth at the FVA Meet on Monday – the Cardinal boys scoring 76 team points, with the girls scoring 71.

Flyway Conference Meet:

Omro won the Flyway Conference Boys Championship with 154 team points, St. Mary’s Springs placed second with 134 points. Winnebago Lutheran third (116), Mayville fourth (88), Laconia fifth (81), North Fond du Lac sixth (75), Lomira seventh (37), St. Lawrence Seminary eighth (7).  

Mayville won the Flyway Conference Girls Championship with 166 team points. St. Mary’s Springs placed second with 123, Laconia was third (116), Lomira fourth (86), Omro fifth (50), Winnebago Lutheran sixth (48) and North Fond du Lac seventh (7 points)

–The Brewers led 4-2 through four innings, then were outscored 5-0 the rest of the way by the Phillies in the loss in game one. Lorenzo Cain led the charge for the Brewers with five hits, including two doubles. Mike Moustakas hit a solo home run in the third inning for Milwaukee. Game two is tonight – coverage starts at 5:30 on KFIZ, first pitch at 6:05.

NFL:

The Packers have signed another of their draft picks. Second round offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins from Mississippi State inked his rookie deal with Green Bay on Monday. The Packers also claimed safety Mike Tyson – no, not THAT Mike Tyson – off waivers from Houston, and released wide receiver Matthew Eaton.
