–Audrey Schumacher threw a complete-game shutout, striking out 12 batters to help lead the Vikings past the Spartans. Alayna Suprenand went 3-for-3 with a triple to lead the WLA offense in the win.

Fond du Lac fell to Appleton North in a FVA dual meet at Rolling Meadows Golf Course on Thursday, 167 to 192. Wyatt Pfeiffer had the low score for the Cardinals with a 44

–Phillies starter Zack Wheeler tossed a complete-game shutout to help his team complete the sweep of the Brewers with a win Thursday afternoon. Wheeler gave up just three hits and struck out eight in the win. His counterpart, Brewers starter Brandon Woodruff tossed 6 & ⅔ innings, giving up just one run – a home run to Alec Bohm in the seventh inning to put Philly ahead for good. Woodruff struck out 11 batters in the loss.
The Brewers’ losing streak stands at five games heading into a weekend series at Miami. Brent Suter gets the start Friday in the series opener, first pitch is 6:10 PM.
