WIAA Track & Field Sectionals: 

Division 1 Sectional – Hosted by Hartford: 

The Fond du Lac Girls Track & Field Team took first place in the team standings at the Hartford Sectional on Thursday, scoring 131.5 team points. 

Individual Sectional Champions include:

Gianna Trotter – Sectional Champion in the Discus & Triple Jump

Sydney Arndt  – Sectional Champion in the 100 meter hurdles & the 300 meter hurdles, third place finisher in the long jump

Emily Elford – Sectional Champion in the 100 meter dash & 200 meter dash

Ally Schmitz – Sectional Champion in the 400 meter dash & 800 meter run

Girls 4×400 meter relay team – Sectional Champions

The Fond du Lac Boys track team took seventh place at sectionals, scoring 54 team points. 

Matthew Rusch was the lone Sectional Champion for the Fondy boys – he took first place in the Discus, and placed 2nd in the Shot Put.

The Princeton Sectional where St. Mary’s Springs and Winnebago Lutheran were competing was postponed to tonight due to weather. Competition will resume at 6 PM tonight

–Jackson Loftin doubled and drove in the only run of the game for the Dock Spiders in their loss to the Booyah on Thursday night. The two teams play again tonight at Herr-Baker Field, first pitch is 6:35 PM.

–The Brewers’ losing streak now stands at four games as they lost the first game of their four-game weekend series in Colorado Thursday night. The Rockies scored five runs in the first inning off of Brandon Woodruff, including a Grand Slam from C.J. Cron to take the lead for good in the contest. Luis Urias hit a three-run double in the seventh inning for the only runs of the game for Milwaukee. The same two teams play again tonight – first pitch is 7:40, radio coverage starts at 7:05 on KFIZ.

Eastern Conference Semifinals – Game Six: 

Milwaukee 104, Brooklyn 89

–Khris Middleton scored 38 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Giannis Antetokounmpo added 30 points and 17 rebounds as the Bucks defended their home court to force a Game Seven in the series Saturday night in Brooklyn. Kevin Durant scored 32 and had 11 rebounds in the loss for Brooklyn. The winner-take-all Game Seven is Saturday night – tipoff is 7:30 PM.
