–Cole Zabowski belted a two-run single in the fifth inning for the Dock Spiders’ only runs of the game as the Chinooks rebounded to take game two of the series at Herr Baker Field Wednesday night. Fondy hits the road for a four game road trip to Michigan. Tonight, the Dock Spiders play at Kalamazoo – first pitch is 6:05 pm.

–Starlin Castro drove in the winning run on a base hit in the bottom of the 12th inning to give the Marlins a win Wednesday night in Miami. The win also gave Miami a series win over the Brewers, after they took Monday’s game in extra innings. The Brewers trailed 4-2 going into the eighth, when Jesus Aguilar had a two-run double to tie the game. The game was scoreless until the 12th, when Jorge Lopez gave up the single to Castro with one out in the frame. The Brewers head to Pittsburgh tonight for five games in four days – coverage tonight begins at 5:30, first pitch at 6:05 on KFIZ.

MLB News:

Make it four All-Stars for the Milwaukee Brewers this year. Jesus Aguilar was announced the winner of the MLB All-Star Final Vote for the National League Wednesday night, sending him to Washington D.C. to represent Milwaukee in the mid summer classic. Aguilar joins Lorenzo Cain, Christian Yelich and Josh Hader as Brewer All-Stars this year – tying 2014 for the most players named to the all-star game in franchise history with four. Aguilar drew 20.2 million votes nationwide, the second most behind Justin Turner of the LA Dodgers, who drew 20.8 million votes in 2017. Former Brewer Jean Segura was announced as the final vote winner in the American League.

Jesus Aguilar will also take part in the Home Run Derby at Nationals Park Monday night. Aguilar will take on Rhys Hoskins of Philadelphia in the first matchup of the bracket. Both are first time participants in the home run derby, with Aguilar tied for the National League lead in homers with 23, Hoskins has 14 home runs this year. Other players taking part in this year’s derby include Alex Bregman of Houston, Kyle Schwarber and Javier Baez of the Cubs, Bryce Harper of Washington, Freddie Freeman of Atlanta and Max Muncy of the LA Dodgers.

NBA:

The NBA Summer League tournament begins in Las Vegas today and the Bucks will play their first tournament game against San Antonio. Milwaukee went 1-2 in the pre-tournament play, with an opening game win over Detroit followed by back-to-back losses to Dallas and Denver. Tonight’s game tips off at 7 pm central time.
