Wisconsin Sports News:

>>Research Turns Up New All-Time Sack Leader – Willie Davis

(Green Bay, WI)  —  Researchers now say Hall of Fame lineman Willie Davis is the all-time sack leader for the Green Bay Packers with 93-and-a-half.  Work done by the Pro Football Researchers Association has resulted in sack stats being added to official statistics from the 1960 to 1982 NFL seasons. Linebacker Clay Matthews is the current Packers all-time sack leader with 83-and-a-half.  The new data hasn’t be registered yet and Davis’ numbers don’t include the 1960 season.  Davis died last year at the age of 85.

>>College Football News Projects 10-and-2 Season For Badgers

(Madison, WI)  —  College Football News is projecting a 10-and-2 season for the Wisconsin Badgers.  The 2021 campaign kicks off at Camp Randall Stadium in just seven-and-a-half weeks.  The experts think coach Paul Chryst’s squad will open with a win over Penn State September 4th.  They see a road “trap” game against Purdue as one of Bucky’s defeats.  They also think Wisconsin will lose to Notre Dame at Soldier Field.  The 10-and-2 mark would be good enough for a first-place finish in the Big Ten West Division and a berth in the conference championship game.  College Football News is thinking the Badgers will beat Ohio State this time and possibly receive a bid to the College Football Playoff.  Unfortunately, you have to actually play and win those games on the field.

>>Brewers Draft Wisconsin Hitter

(New York, NY)  —  The Milwaukee Brewers have taken a look into their backyard to find a hitter in this week’s 2021 Major League Baseball Draft.  With the 86th overall pick, the Brewers selected third baseman Alex Binelas of the University of Louisville Binelas is a Brewers fan who grew up in Oak Creek.  He’s also a big time power prospect.  He got off to a slow start in the college baseball season, pushing him lower in the draft.  However, he finished with 19 homers and a .969 O-P-S. Binelas pounded 18 homers in his last 124 college at-bats.  He was taken in the third round Monday.
