The Brewers are bringing back pitcher Jordan Lyles. The team announced Monday they had acquired Lyles from Pittsburgh for right-hander Cody Ponce. Lyles was acquired last year by the Brewers on an August waiver deal and ended up throwing 16 & ⅓ innings with an ERA of 3.31. Lyles signed a one-year deal with Pittsburgh in the offseason, and started this season strong – going 5-2 with a 3.05 ERA between April and May. His record dropped to 0-2 in June, and he finished July with an 0-3 record with an ERA of 15.00. The Brewers are hoping the addition of Lyles can help stabilize their rotation – which has seen a number of starters hit the injured list, including their ace Brandon Woodruff.
