National League:

NY Mets 4, Milwaukee 3 (Game 1 – 8 Innings)

–Jeff McNeil’s two-run single in the bottom of the eighth helped the Mets walk-off with a win over the Brewers in game one of the doubleheader in New York on Wednesday afternoon.

The Brewers got solo home runs from Luis Urias and Jace Peterson off of Mets’ starter Jacob DeGrom to take a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the seventh, but Josh Hader gave up the tying home run to Jose Peraza in the seventh to send the game to extras – Hader’s first blown save of the year.

Christian Yelich got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the top of the eighth to put the Brewers back in front, but Brent Suter loaded the bases right back up after hitting a batter and walking another – leading to McNeil’s heroics with nobody out.

Milwaukee 5, NY Mets 0 (Game 2)

–Manny Pina and Luis Urias each clubbed a two-run homer, while Willy Adames added a solo shot as the Brewers earned a split with the Mets in Wednesday’s doubleheader.

Pina’s two-run tater in the second started the scoring, with Adames extending the lead to 3-0 in the sixth with his solo home run to left-center. Luis Urias clubbed his second homer of the day – a two-run blast in the seventh to seal the win for Milwaukee.

The Brewers return home for a four-game series against the Cincinnati Reds starting tonight – first pitch is 7:10 PM, no radio broadcast due to Bucks Basketball.
