Sports Headlines:

>>3 Packers Suffer Injuries During Tuesday Training Camp Practice

(Green Bay, WI)  —  Three players for the Green Bay Packers had to leave Tuesday’s training camp practice because they were hurt.  The injuries that sidelined outside linebacker Za’Darius Smith and left tackle David Bakhtiari weren’t described and there was no update from the coach after practice.  Bakhtiari may have been dealing with a foot injury.  Defensive lineman Montravius Adams was taken off the field in a cart after what looked like a lower-body injury.  Center Corey Linsley sat out the entire practice as he deals with a lingering back injury.

>>Big Ten Officials Work On Revised Football Schedule With Games Starting In January

(Chicago, IL)  —  Big Ten Conference officials could release a revised football schedule within a week or two.  They have reportedly been working on a plan to kick off the season in January.  The conference feels it’s important for players to finish the season before the 2021 NFL Draft starting April 29th.  It wouldn’t be a full, 12-game season – more like eight or nine games. The Big Ten would apparently try to use indoor facilities like Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, or Ford Field in Detroit.  Coaches and athletic directors say they want to limit the number of games to ease the physical strain on players who would return to action in August.
