Women’s Golf: 

Marian hosted their home invite on Sunday at Whispering Springs Golf Club on Sunday – the Sabres were led by Morgan Hernandez who shot a 100 in her first round, and a 99 in her second round. 

Men’s Golf: 

Marian finished 11th out of 16 teams at the Midwest Region Classic on Sunday. The Sabres were led by Jake Sherwood, who shot a 77 in both rounds to finish in a tie for 30th

NFL: 

Green Bay 21, Minnesota 16

–The Packers scored the first 21 points of the game, then were shutout over almost three full quarters, but that was enough to hang on for a victory over the Vikings at Lambeau Field on Sunday. Aaron Rodgers connected with Jamaal Williams on a 15 yard touchdown pass to open the scoring – capping a four play, 75 yard drive on the opening series of the game. Touchdowns by Geronimo Allison and Aaron Jones made it a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter. Minnesota would score the next 16 points, but never was able to pull in front – due in part to four turnovers, and eight penalties for 100 yards. 

Aaron Rodgers completed 22 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns. Davante Adams led the team in receiving – with seven catches for 106 yards, and Aaron Jones had 23 carries for 116 yards and a score. Green Bay sits at 2-0 and hosts Denver on Sunday. Minnesota drops to 1-1 and hosts Oakland on Sunday. 

Chicago 16, Denver 14

–Eddie Pineiro booted a 53-yard field goal on the last play of the game as the Bears won on the road in Denver. Chicago travels to Washington next Monday night. 

Detroit 13, LA Chargers 10

–Matthew Stafford threw the go-ahead touchdown pass to Kenny Golladay midway through the fourth quarter in the win over the Chargers. Detroit improves to 1-0-1 and visits Philadelphia on Sunday. 

Major League Baseball: 

National League: 

Milwaukee 7, St. Louis 6

–Ryan Braun crushed a go-ahead Grand Slam on a 3-2 count with two outs in the ninth to put the Brewers in front and give them a series win against the Cardinals on Sunday afternoon. Milwaukee sits three games behind St. Louis in the NL Central division, and is a game back of the Cubs for the second Wild Card spot with two weeks left in the regular season. The Brewers open their final homestand of the season tonight – in the first of a four game series against San Diego. Coverage starts at 6:05 pm, first pitch at 6:40 on KFIZ.
