Sports Headlines:

>>Brewers Place Corbin Burnes on Injured List

(St. Louis, MO)  —  The Brewers will not have starter Corbin Burnes on the mound if they do make the playoffs this weekend.  The team placed the right-hander on the injured list Friday with a strained left oblique.  Manager Craig Counsell said Burnes would be unavailable for the first round and doubtful if they advanced to the second round.  Burnes has a 4-and-1 record with a two-point-11 Earned Run Average and 88 strikeouts in 59 and two-thirds innings this regular season.  He went 1-and-5 in 2019 with an eight-point-83 earned run average.  Burnes was placed on the injured list after undergoing an M-R-I.  Counsell said Burnes had a great season even if it didn’t end the way he wanted it to.

>>Green Bay Packers Injury Report

(Green Bay, WI)  —  The Packers injury report shows nose tackle Kenny Clark is questionable for Sunday Night Football in New Orleans.  Clark returned to the practice field Thursday and Friday in a limited capacity.  Coach Matt LaFleur said he’s made progress but Clark is definitely not 100 percent yet.  Safety Darnell Savage is also questionable with a groin injury and guard Elgton Jenkins has a sore back and ribs.  Savage and Jenkins were added to the injury report Friday.

>>WR Adams Doubtful For Green Bay, Saints Rule Out Thomas

(Green Bay, WI)  —  The Packers and Saints could be missing their Pro Bowl wide receivers in Sunday night’s game in New Orleans.  Coach Matt LaFleur said it’s pretty doubtful that Davante Adams is going to play with a hamstring injury.  Adams didn’t practice all week after leaving last Sunday’s win over Detroit at Lambeau Field.  The Saints have ruled out 2019 Offensive Player of the Year Michael Thomas for the second straight week with an ankle injury.  Thomas set an NFL record in 2019 with 149 catches in a season.
