>>Packers, Aaron Jones Getting Close To Agreement

(Green Bay, WI)  —  The Green Bay Packers and running back Aaron Jones are said to be getting closer to an agreement on a new contract.  Jones came of age last season with nearly 11 hundred yards rushing, almost 500 receiving, and 19 touchdowns.  He made the team better by simply taking the field.  The Packers expected points-per-play were third in the NFL when Jones was on the turf.  When he was standing on the sidelines the Packers were 29th.  Jones isn’t expected to get a 16-million-dollar deal like Christian McCaffrey, but he could triple his pay to about six million – possibly before the 2020 season starts this weekend.
